Twin Cities Lyme Gala

Shared on social media November 19th, 2019.

“I finally made it!” was my exact thought when taking this picture!

One of my dreams while at my sickest point with Late Stage Neurological Lyme and 30 coinfections was to attend a Lyme Gala. I reached out to Twin Cities Lyme Foundation asking about volunteer options. Lisa, her family & everyone at TCLF welcomed me into their tribe with open arms. Little did they know just how much being a part of the Lyme Lyght Gala 2019 truly meant to me. ⁣

The gala was much more than getting dressed up in a fun yet obnoxiously green & sparkly dress. Amazon for the win with the dress! I was able to be on my feet in stilettos for over 8 hours while being able to have multiple coherent conversations with others. That is something that I didn’t think would ever be a reality again. ⁣

It also meant being surrounded by others who knew exactly what it felt like to go through Lyme or wanted to genuinely support those with it. I met so many amazing people who really asked & listened to my Lyme journey.⁣

That night I got to fulfill a dream and a promise that I made to myself- ⁣

When I got to remission I would make it to a Lyme Gala. ⁣
